At Crown Thistle Collies, we sell Collie puppies from farm raised family dogs who are
beloved members of our family.
If you are looking for a Collie puppy, we usually have Collie
puppies available in the spring and summer.
Crown Thistle Collies is located on a farm in Harrisville, Michigan. As a Michigan Collie breeder,
we sell
quality rough Collies pups from European and American bloodlines.
We specialize in Sable and White
Collie pups, and Tri-Color Collie puppies that have beautiful conformation and calm temperaments.
We have both show champion and working Collie bloodlines at our farm.
The Collie is a very special breed of dog and we
are committed to breeding highly intelligent, genetically sound, people-pleasing Collies for people
who are looking
for an excellent family dog. The Collie is a very manageable breed of dog, but they do require a regular
grooming schedule (one of my favorite hobby occupations is spinning and I love to spin Collie hair into yarn!).
Collie males grow to be 65 to 80 lbs, while female Collies average 45 to 65 lbs.
I began breeding Collies
in celebration of the dogs I grew up with. My father was a Collie breeder and as
a child my greatest protector and friend was one of my parents stud-dogs -
King. King was a sable rough Collie that exemplified both breed standard and
temperament
while "Shadow" was our stylish companion - she was a beautiful Tri-color female, a favorite of my Mom.
Collie dogs go back in my family for generations. My Grandfather, Daniel Brendan Casey, was an Irish
immigrant who brought with him from Ireland his great love of dogs - especially Collies.

I am greatly blessed to be able to work in partnership with several members of
my family, in Michigan and around the country, all of whom respect and love the Collie breed and strive
for
imporvement. Our dogs are
raised as personal companions and farm collies and are trained on a working farm with sheep,
horses and dairy
goats. Crown Thistle
Collies enjoy being able to live out their natural desires to work and herd. We have a variety
of beautiful colors, sable, tri-color, and white.
My goal as a collie breeder is not to mass produce collie
puppies for sale. I consider that
type of practice a tragic mismanagement of the Collie breed that has led to various
health problems. We breed Collies for superior temperaments, intelligence, gentle personalities and willingness to
learn. Collies are wonderful family dogs and are great with children.
Our selective breeding program means that we only have a few collie litters a year
and it is important that all of our collie puppies meet a future placement in loving homes that can
truly accommodate
and appreciate a Collie
for the wonderful dog that it is.
We train all of our Collie puppies in an early kindergarten puppy program so our clients get a good head start on training.
We take dog breeding very seriously and for that reason, our rough Collies are registered with the American Kennel
Club, We follow AKC initiatives for having puppies for sale plus accurate dog identification, DNA testing
and thus, our collie pups are carefully sold as
excellent pets and companions.
We also provide resources for canine birth at our Collie whelping page.
While Collies are not the only dogs raised here, they are certainly among my
favorites. Chore time everyday finds me in escort of my beautiful Collies who
share my love of the farm and enjoyment of the great outdoors.
We are currently training 3 of our girls who serve as full time social and therapy dogs.
We visit local nursing homes with our
dogs to encourage the elderly. It is a rewarding experience that gives us the opportunity to share with others our
great love of dogs.
